“Ancient Halieis” Museum
A route that brings the sunken city of Halieis back to the surface.
“The revival route of the submerged ancient city of Halieis” proposes an interactive museum and an underwater sea path at Porto Heli, where the remains of the ancient town lie just below the water. A timber walkway leads visitors from the shore over the site, to a floating pavilion above the ruins.
On land, a neoclassical house becomes the museum: the story of the city runs along its walls, finds are shown under a circular window of water, an interactive archive invites visitors to explore, and a classroom teaches children about the sea. The project was Kyriaki Louzi’s diploma in Interior Architecture.
